You will need to provide a personal profile that includes: Volunteer
name, address, phone numbers (home, work, cell), e-mail address, your
child’s name, the fund or organization checks will be made payable to,
whether you have your food handlers card and TIPS/FOCUS/SAFETY training.
Volunteer Initial Training
Prior to your first
event you will be required to have a Food Handler’s Card which is
issued by Maricopa County Environmental Services. Visit their website at
www.maricopa.gov/envsvc/envhlth/fdwkr.asp
to obtain information about testing sites (there are four throughout
greater Phoenix), download the study guide, ‘Sanitation Techniques for
the Food Service Worker’. The cost involved is $12.00 (unless you
identify yourself as working on a ‘volunteer’ basis, in which case the
fee is waived).
All volunteers at an ARAMARK event,
which includes NHL Coyote Hockey and concerts at Glendale Arena,
are required to successfully complete a TIPS training program. Likewise,
all volunteers 19 or older that will be serving alcohol are required to
successfully complete the TIPS training as well. This 2-4 hour
‘alcohol management and intervention techniques’ class is conducted
throughout the year by the ARAMARK
Food and Beverage Corporation. After registering as a volunteer with For
Our Kidz, Inc., you will be notified when the next available TIPS/FOCUS/SAFETY class
is scheduled. The FOCUS/SAFETY class is required for all
volunteers at Aramark venues. This is a one hour class.
Contact For Our Kidz to register for these
classes.
For the University of Phoenix
Stadium volunteers are required to have a photo badge made by the
stadium management and attend an orientation session as available.
Dates will be announced periodically.
Volunteer On-The-Job Training
When you work your
first event you will be matched up with an experienced volunteer who
will guide you through the duties and responsibilities for that event.
